Mountain Island Lake
Nestled on the border of Gaston and Mecklenburg Counties, Mountain Island Lake offers numerous activities including boating, fishing, and water skiing. Located just 13 miles from uptown Charlotte with access to I-77, I-85 and I-485, this area offers convenience of the city with the tranquility of nearby lake living. Paw Creek
The Paw Creek area near Moores Chapel Rd. and Little Rock Rd. is home to the new U. S. Whitewater Center, a 300 acre outdoor educational center featuring mountain-biking trails, climbing areas and a man-made whitewater river for rafting and kayaking. Huntersville
Straddling I-77 to the east and west, Huntersville in the western portion boasts numerous new communities and amenities for its residents. Oakdale
Located along the Highway 16 corridor, many new residential communities are being developed near the Catawba River. This area is also near Johnson C. Smith University to the east, ranked twice by U.S. News and World Report as one of the best comprehensive colleges in the South.
