Parks
Lake Norman State Park
gives you information on hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, trails, park hours, etc. This Lake Norman park is one of the few with a public swimming area. You can rent canoes here on the weekends (during the warmer months), get fishing passes, go mountain biking, etc. It's a nice park....

Jetton Park
A nice park for walking, casual bike riding or rollerblading, and tennis. There are 8 brand new tennis courts (as of September '06) available to the public. There's also what we call a "greenway" which is basically an asphalt path running throughout the park.

Blythe Landing
A good boat launching site for Lake Norman boaters. This is also a park with a couple of volleyball courts that stay busy whether it be through leagues or get-togethers. A nice playground and grills make it very conducive for family gatherings.

Ramsey Creek Park
Another boat launching facility (Cornelius) with a couple of bike trails, picnic areas, and most importantly, the Lake Norman area's only DOG PARK.

North Mecklenburg Park
This is a really large park with a lot of of activity. The local softball leagues play here, there are public basketball courts, soccer fields, grills, etc. There's also a biking trail here (http://www.tarheeltrailblazers.com/trails/trailreview.cfm?trailid=7)which is featured on many of the bike trail sites around the area.
