Use the table below and the calculation example I've provided to figure out the property tax you would be paying if you purchased a home in Mecklenburg County including the cities of Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Matthews, Mint Hill, Pineville, Stallings, and Charlotte.

To calculate the taxes on your home, follow this formula:
tax value of home / 100 x appropriate rate = annual tax
for example, a home with a tax value of $200,000 in the Charlotte city limits would be as follows:
$200,000 / 100 = 2000
2000 x 1.2568 = $2513.60/year or $209.47/month
