Hi! I’m Chad Hendrix. I am the owner and broker in charge of Hendrix Properties and have been licensed since 1999. While I do oversee the operations and marketing of Hendrix Properties, I work with clients on a daily basis and thoroughly enjoy serving their best interests as well as the interaction with them and the personal bonds that develop. Also, when my clients work with me, they also get the pleasure of working with my partner Jenny McCarver who is an amazing broker that does so much behind the scenes to make sure our clients are protected and have a great experience.

How did I get into real estate?

To make a long story short, I was a bit lost in the mid-90s and working in a manufacturing plant with no real plans for my future and feeling quite stagnant. After a co-worker and I combined our funds to flip a small house on the side, mostly out of boredom, I realized that I needed to do something different. So, I decided to go take some real estate classes at night, not knowing exactly where that would lead me. During the course of my studies, I decided that maybe I’d just see what being a residential real estate agent was like. So, I passed my test, traded in my truck for a used Honda Accord, bought a few pairs of Dockers pants and golf shirts, and got my first cell phone (a Nokia that hung from my belt, haha) so that I could play the part. Well, let’s just say that I was like a fish out of water in many ways (especially not being a ‘salesman’ type) but I eventually learned to adapt and here I am 24 years later and counting….

What is it like working with me?

Well, the best way to get the answer to that is to ask my clients. I can certainly say that I am easy to get in touch with day or night, never consider my clients just another number or sale, am always thinking ahead trying to protect them and their investment, and am a skilled negotiator. 

What do you want customers/consumers to know about you?

Oh, this is an easy question to answer.  I’m not the ‘salesman’ type. In fact, I am more of a project manager and consultant with a customer-first mentality. I certainly don’t mean to knock folks in sales jobs but there is a certain connotation that goes along with that and that’s just not me/us. Every single thing we do is geared towards what’s in our client’s best interests, period. I know that if I treat people right, work hard to fulfill my duties to clients (and customers), and be the best person I can be, things will fall into place. 

What gives you the most satisfaction from your job? What motivates you?

Well, I can think of a few things that really warm my heart and remind me of why I wake up every day wanting to do my job. Firstly, there is often a time that comes during interactions with customers/clients whether it be during an initial conversation or after a few when I can really sense that my clients trust me and have put their faith in me. When I sense that, it is a bit touching and makes me want to work even harder for them. It really is a big deal. Another thing that drives me is when we win a multiple offer situation for a buyer-client of ours (which we do more times than not) and I get to make that call to them to deliver the good news sometimes trying to hold back tears of my own. Also, when the homes we are hired to list and sell get lots of activity and multiple offers and it suddenly becomes clear why we all (our seller-clients and us) worked hard to put the right things together.

What do you do for fun?

I have always been actively involved in tennis and playing in the USTA (I’m rated a 4.5). I am also slowly getting into pickleball, and want to get back to playing golf again if I can find the time. Outside of that, I enjoy hiking, walking, biking the greenways, and the marketing side of my business (yes, that’s fun to me!)
