Charlotte, NC Luxury Homes for Sale
When looking for luxury homes and real estate, the Charlotte area has many options depending on the lifestyle you're looking to live. The largest concentration of luxury homes in Charlotte tends to be close to Uptown Charlotte, on or near Lake Norman or Lake Wylie, or in the sought-after South Charlotte or Union County area.
Charlotte Waterfront Homes
If you like the idea of Waterfront living, Charlotte has 3 good options. Lake Norman, just north of Charlotte, is the largest of the lakes, followed by Lake Wylie, southwest of Charlotte, and then Mountain Island Lake, just northwest of Charlotte. If you don't necessarily need or want to be on the water, there are other excellent options in these areas. For instance, neighborhoods such as The Peninsula, The Point, and River Run offer golf, tennis, and a true country-club atmosphere.
Charlotte City Limits
The general South Charlotte area has always been arguably one of the most desirable areas in the region. It extends from uptown, southwards towards the southern section of the outer belt I-485, and just beyond into the Ballantyne area. As with many cities, the homes get newer and newer the farther you go outwards (because that's how cities grow, right?). For instance, a little closer to uptown, you'll find older neighborhoods such as Myers Park, Eastover, Dilworth, and Cotswold. While the neighborhoods are older, you'll notice many new homes due to tear-downs over the last several years. Keep going southward a bit, and you'll find beautiful neighborhoods such as Foxcroft, Morrocroft Estates, and Barclay Downs in the South Park area. Southward from there, you'll see sought-after communities such as Quail Hollow, Seven Eagles, Piper Glen, Ballantyne Country Club, and Providence Country Club. When looking for luxury homes in South Charlotte, you'll also find many smaller pockets of luxury homes. "Planned Communities" weren't what was being built 60-70-80 years ago, so don't limit your search to just the neighborhoods I've listed. Better yet, reach out to me, and I'll help you.
Union County
Union County, just south of Mecklenburg County, has been one of the most sought-after counties in America over the last 10-15 years or so. In Union County, you'll find the towns of Waxhaw, Marvin, and Weddington, all known for good schools and luxury neighborhoods alongside beautiful horse pastures and lots of greenery. While this area will put you a little farther out from Center City Charlotte, there is an abundance of shopping and amenities all over the adjacent south Charlotte area and in those areas themselves.
